ABOUT THE KING'S ACADEMY

Building Bright Futures

Christ the King Lutheran Church celebrated its first public worship service on January 14, 1996, and was chartered as a member congregation of the LCMS on January 12, 1997. Pastor Ron Lehenbauer was installed as the full-time pastor in June of that same year. Our worship center was dedicated on August 9, 1998. Pastor Kristopher Morris also serves as our associate pastor.

In September 2003, a newly formed preschool opened its doors with two teachers and 16 students.

On June 11, 2006, we dedicated our new education wing, with three new classrooms to accommodate half-day preschool and pre-k classes for three and four-year-olds. Mrs. Elaine Lehenbauer became the director of the King’s Kids Preschool in 2005.

In the fall of 2011, we expanded our preschool program with the addition of an all-day pre-k class for four-year-olds. We opened our first kindergarten classroom in August 2012. We currently have an enrollment of about 170 students. Our present staff includes one administrator, one preschool director, twelve teachers, four classroom teaching assistants, and one food service director. The King’s Academy offers preschool through eighth grade.

Amenities include hot lunches, playground facilities, a security system, and a before and after-care program. Special classes include music, art, and physical education in addition to a well-rounded curriculum that provides personalized education. A scholarship program is available for those who are interested.
